《基础英语4》教学大纲

推荐教材:徐克容,《现代大学英语》精读4(第二版),外语教学与研究出版社,2012年。

参考书目:车云宁,《现代大学英语教材全解》4,东北师范大学出版社, 2012年。

课程的教学目的与任务

该课程在《基础英语3》的基础上,全面开展各项语言技能的训练;重点加强写作和翻译;强化语法、句法的掌握和运用能力;口语应转移到较长的叙述描写以及初步的分析和辩论能力的培养;广泛阅读,提高阅读能力;借助构词法,词汇量达到新大纲要求的6000词指标,能读懂中等或偏上程度的原著;提高独立学习能力,养成使用英英词典以及对教材内容进行分析、判断、评论的能力。通过精读精讲课文,让学生了解丰富的语言现象,欣赏并学习作家的写作手法。利用课后配套练习或补充课外模拟题,提高学生的做题技巧,为本学期顺利通过专业四级考试(TEM-4)做充分准备。学习的重点是课文中体现的英语国家的文化和作者写作手法。

课程的基本要求

通过本课程学习,提高学生的综合语言能力,具体而言:

1、语音:发音正确;较好地掌握朗读和说话的节奏感;掌握语流中的语音变化规律、连读、爆破和语音同化等技巧。

2、语法:熟练掌握主语从句、同位语从句、倒装句和各种条件句。

3、词汇:认知词汇5,000—6,000个,熟练使用3,000—3,500个。

4、听力:听懂英语国家人士关于日常生活和社会生活的谈话;听懂VOA正常速度和BBC新闻节目的主要内容;15分钟内听写150词左右的普通短文,语速为每分钟120词,错误率不超过8%。

5、口语:能就日常生活话题与英语国家人士进行交谈,语言得体,表达比较流畅。

6、阅读:能阅读浅显材料以及Reader’s Digest,速度为每分钟140-160个单词;能够在5分钟内速读8,00词左右、中等难度的文章并掌握大意。

7、写作:能在30分钟内写出150--200个单词的短文,语言正确,能书写基本应用文。

8、翻译:能独立完成课程中的各项翻译练习,语言通顺。

9、工具书使用:能熟练使用《英汉大词典》、Oxford Advanced English Dictionary、Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English等工具书独立解决语言问题。

10、文化素养:了解各国(英语语言国家为主)主要文化传统,具有一定的人文知识和科技知识,具有较好的创新能力。
